Minutes, permits, and the same
« on: July 27, 2010, 11:33:39 AM »
Sunday, having nothing more to do than surfing the Internet, I came accross a small town here in Texas, who was posting the minutes of the meetings of the Chamber of Commerce and even their checkbook..that makes me chuckle...the language was -as you speak, no lawyer to translate.
In another page, a city was publishing the permits,  per $ value, for new construction, remodeling etc....I thought it was a good idea. Some big towns post the minutes of their meetings...
Hello Princeton, give us something to read.

I would think that the city would post the city counsil meeting minutes but I guess not.  I agree that posting the permits is a good idea for a lot of reasons.

There seems to be no cordination on events here, the city, the chamber and the schools all have events but no one seems to post them and it is the same at http://blueridgetexas.us

I guess folks just stay in there own little world and that is a shame because there are folks that would like to hear about events.

I will get off my soap box now..

They are going to have a Lube place in front of Crestview, with an access from 380, but also from the waterview street....Those guys are using only half of the land they bought.$$$$$$...so once installed what are they going to use the valuable backyard for????????
Princeton has no real doctor facility, no clinic, no hotel  places creator of jobs
Good news, there is now - in  working condition - a laundry..very useful for poliotical dirty deals

Growth is good but can the growth stay with the current degraded financial situation that is from sea to shining sea..

I have seen a lot of business go in and lot of them are gone within a year or two all over this NT area... just saying

I think there are 6 lube places in Princeton already and I may miss some. I will never wish bad to anyone, but once built...it stays forever. Why they did not buy the dilapidated Chapman gas station in front of the City Hall. get a contract to maintain all city and ISD vehicles.....and keep out of 380. Not only that, the wives would go shopping in the new rejuvenated down town while their car is serviced.

I guess Princeton is well lubed, don't know how that many stay in business in a small town...

Services like that in the down town area would add to the appeal of shopping down town for sure, I agree..

About permits...nobody said anything about the permit signed by Veritas and the City, to a Guy on 380 to expand his business... I like his new building, I don't even remember how was the old one...I need to take pictures.
With all their legal battles, I suppose the City does not carry an Errors and Omissions Insurance Policy....who is going to pay for the difference??  So the mayor saw it, did not like it...did he saw all the advertisement: signs, paintings, neon at Joe's bistrot. I read the ordinances for the signs, but was unable to see if there was a ratio square footage of the building/square footage of signs......
For a landlord who does not want his buildings to look like las vegas....
Let me cry in my beer...they are tears from laughing

This late morning I went to see this building, that the mayor want in bricks and masonery..
The building looks good. It is a change for once.
I saw the next building it is all metal..must have been built just before they change the ordinance.
If I was the owner I will sue them, and take my business and sales tax elsewhere.
Really my heart goes for the guy..I hope he is not turning bersek and shoot at  the building

I wonder it may cost to put bricks and masonry around that building. He must hate Princeton Administration.

Ya, I have this thing printed. I see that the appeal will be 1st..I really wish that other business people show to support the guy.
One thing make me laugh....They are commending this Guy: Michael Biggs, I suppose to have watch them like  a hawk.along the years
I don't think it is the Tda..their grant this year is for desalinization...but the block grant..i was unable to find anything....
